The Featured Cover highlighted Strange Tales # 78 while this update also saw the third and fourth pages of The Grandiose Years (Pierre's Third Phase of Silver Age Marvel) as well as the first, eighth and fifteenth pages of The Twilight Years (actually, a couple of those pages have been on-line for quite a while, I just forgot to mention it...)

Six covers were added this time, all by the underrated Dan Adkins:  Strange Tales # 160, 162, 164, 166, 168 and Tales to Astonish # 94.
Plenty of upgrades, too:  X-Men # 3, 13, 16, 17, 22, 23, 32, 33, 38, 42, 43, 45 and 59.
The Featured Cover highlighted Adkins' Strange Tales # 162 and this update also saw the second page of The Grandiose Years (Pierre's Third Phase of Silver Age Marvel).

Five covers were added this time: Marvel Collectors' Item Classics # 8, Marvel Tales # 16 and 25, and Sgt Fury # 46 and 55.  There were no upgrades. The Featured Cover highlighted one of the issues covered in the long-awaited first part of The Grandiose Years (Pierre's Third Phase of Silver Age Marvel): Journey into Mystery Annual # 1.

This update was all about providing a new feature on the site: FF original vs. reprint cover comparisons!  Ten covers were added: Marvel Collectors' Item Classics # 11, 13 and 14, Marvel's Greatest Comics # 25, 28, 31, 32, 33, 43 and 47.  Twelve covers were upgraded: Marvel Collectors' Item Classics # 12, Fantastic Four # 12, 20, 23, 33, 34, 36, 39, 42, 44, 45, 56 and 64. The Featured Cover highlighted one of the upgraded covers: FF # 64.

Six covers added this update: Kid Colt, Outlaw # 116 and # 130, Love Romances # 87, Captain America # 121, Conan the Barbarian # 3 and Special Marvel Edition # 5.
Quite a few upgrades, too: Conan the Barbarian # 2, Captain Marvel # 3-10, 12-17 and 20-21. The Featured Cover was Kid Colt, Outlaw # 116.

Six covers added this update: Tales to Astonish # 92, Strange Tales # 73, Journey into Mystery # 15, Kid Colt, Outlaw # 148, Patsy and Hedy Annual # 1 and Marvel Double Feature # 9.  Upgraded were Tales to Astonish # 82 and 88.  In reference to my popular Rejected Covers page, the Featured Cover was Captain America # 105.

Four covers added this update: Tales to Astonish # 80 (also this update's Featured Cover), plus Fantastic Four # 120, Journey into Mystery # 31, and Patsy & Hedy # 107.  Also, some upgrades: Captain America # 105, Tales to Astonish # 81 and Tales of Suspense # 93.  *Plus* - something I've been wanting to include for a long time - a Rejected Covers page.  There are more to follow, but initially I've included Six rejected covers.

Did I really add 16 covers?  Not quite. An audit of my statistics page revealed 7 x FF covers I'd neglected to count, but I did add 9: Journey into Mystery (Thor) # 119 (also this update's Featured Cover), Fantastic Four # 106, Sub-Mariner # 18, Tower of Shadows # 5, and Marvel Tales # 110 and 120. That's 6, the other 3 were 1980s additions to my Wordless Covers page.  A few upgrades, too: Fantastic Four # 76, 77, 88 and 98.

New covers this time: Tales to Astonish # 96 (which is also this update's Featured Cover), plus Strange Tales # 108 ...  I also upgraded Fantastic Four # 46 and 67.  Bigger news: my Steve Ditko gallery is back on-line, and I've added a new page to my Themes section - this one's all about Wordless Covers!

Well I spent nearly nine months hatching this update, so I trust it was worth the wait!  Five new covers this time: Tales to Astonish # 16 (which was also this update's Featured Cover), as well as Strange Tales # 42 and 45, Tales of Suspense # 72 and Captain Savage # 13.  I also upgraded Avengers # 10 - well actually I did that back in June, but forgot to mention it until now!

Six new covers for you this time, including a few you probably didn't think I was going to "cover" (or may never even have heard of): Strange Tales # 100, Kid Colt # 46, Modeling with Millie # 29, Ghost Rider # 6, Where Creatures Roam # 1, and Harvey # 1.  More upgrades, too: Avengers # 22, 39 and 50, X-Men # 30, Captain Marvel # 11 and Chamber of Darkness # 1.

More work on the Months section, and three new covers: Groovy # 1, Captain America # 118, and Linda Carter, Student Nurse # 5.  (Hmmm, that's odd, didn't Cap know a couple of ladies named Carter???)  The latest Featured Cover is an upgraded Avengers King-Size Special # 2, a blockbuster if ever there was one, by John Buscema.  Big John passed away last week - the Silver Age thus loses another giant.  Our condolences to his family.
